KIDS CLASS RULES & POLICIES:

Pol-arise Newcastle is committed to providing a fun and safe environment in which students can learn and develop their talents. We have taken steps to ensure that this goal is met by selecting instructors that have years of experience in the field of dance, pole fitness and aerial arts – both in competing and teaching. Our instructors hold both First Aid Certifications and valid WWCC (Working With Children Checks) and while these standards will help ensure a safe environment at our studio, we must also ask parents, friends and students to abide by our Rules and Policies.

Arrivals & Departures -

Starting: Warm up is a critical part of our kids circus program and is essential to ensuring all aerialists are physically and mentally prepared for their activity. Please ensure you arrive early to class and are dressed and ready before starting time, it is distracting to the other students and the instructor when students come late. We ask that you arrive no more than 10 minutes before the class commences. For safety reasons, parents are not permitted onto the dance floor and equipment area during our Kids Circus class programs.

Finishing: Students are dismissed inside the studio. Students are not permitted to wait outside for parents but should wait in the lounge area to ensure they are safe. Please come inside to pick up your child and please reinforce this behaviour by asking your child to wait inside for you.

Responsibility: Pol-arise Newcastle accepts no responsibility for children dropped off early or picked up late from class. Our instructors usually have other classes which they must take responsibility for and therefore cannot continue to supervise children if they are not collected. Children should be advised to remain in the lounge area and speak with reception if nobody arrives to pick them up on time.

Parking & Safety: Please drive slowly and carefully, taking into consideration that our students may include young children. Please park responsibly in and around Pol-arise Newcastle and respect our neighbours by not parking in or blocking their driveways.
Parents/guardians must actively supervise their children prior to and after all classes at all times and be over the age of 18.

What to Bring & Wear -

Aerialists should wear 3/4 pants and snugly fit clothing (no loose tops please). Long leggings may be worn in winter. Bike shorts are recommended when attending intermediate-advanced pole classes.

No jewellery should be worn by dancers and aerialists as this has the potential to cause injury to the student and/or damage to the apparatus. Earrings should not be worn however, small studs are acceptable.
Hair should be tied back neatly and should not get into the aerialists face or eyes. Coloured hair spray is not permitted. For older students, anti-perspirant is a necessity.

All students are required to bring water bottle with them to class. Food and soft drinks and not permitted in the studio.

Please do not allow your child to bring valuables into the premises, Pol-arise Newcastle accepts no responsibility for the safety of personal items.
