About Us ~

We believe being fit, healthy and confident are the sexiest assets a woman can have AND that you only LOOK as good as you FEEL - so our mission is to make you feel AMAZING , by providing a place where students and staff can leave their troubles at the door, let their hair down and enjoy the company of other like-minded ladies. We aim to have you feeling fitter, gaining strength and building self confidence through our fun and unique classes where the fitness benefits are a side effect of the fun!

The Studio ~

Our little boutique studio in the heart of Newcastle CBD is owned and managed by Pol-arise co-founder, Bailey Joel. Bailey is hands on in the studio, teaching classes as well as the day-to-day administration of the studio. She also has a personal interest (and passion) for helping other ladies achieve their fitness, health and weight loss goals. She is backed by her equally passionate team of instructors, who come from a range of different backgrounds ~ including dance, aerial, acrobatics, fitness and more.

We offer group classes, workshops, private lessons and small group training in Pole Dancing, Aerial Yoga, Burlesque, Calisthenics, Strength & Fitness and Stretch & Flexibility.

“I just wanted to say thank you so much for tonight. I had the best time and I am feeling so relaxed. That was the first time in 17 years since my first child was born that I have scone something purely focussed on myself. I wasn’t sure about the aerial yoga, I wanted to do pole but this fitted in with work and I am so glad I did it, it’s perfect for me. I am a single mum of three kids, have 5 jobs including running a business and I work 7 days a week. I’m quite emotional tonight and I can’t wait till next week. So thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

  • What should I wear to class? +

This really depends on what type of class you're taking...
Pole Dance Classes - we used our skin to grip the pole so please bring a pair of comfortable shorts (above the knee) and a singlet top or crop top. Most students and instructors go bare foot in pole classes, but you may wish to wear heels in choreography and dance-based pole classes..
Aerial Classes (Aerial Yoga, Hoop & Cirque) - you'll need either 3/4 or full length pants or tights, with a t-shirt. Nothing with zippers, studs or sharp decorations please!
  • What else do I need to bring to class? +

You'll need a hand towel to wipe down the dance pole (and yourself) and a bottle of water. Bottled water is also availale for sale in most studios if you forget or run out. Some classes may require you to bring a yoga mat or other equipment. This is covered in the class descriptions or in class.
  • What is the general age of students in your classes? Am I too old to join? +

The age of students varies greatly. We welcome and encourage ladies of ALL ages to try out our classes. You're NEVER too old to enjoy the fun and fitness at Pol-arise.
  • Which class should I book into? +

If you're new to pole dance or aerial, please select one of our beginner level classes. If you are coming to us from another studio, make sure you get in touch with your nearest studio to discuss where you are up to, and we can work out the best class for you!
  • How long do the classes run? +

Term Courses are run over an 8 week term and each class is 60 mins in duration (unless otherwise specified). When you book in for class, you are booking in for whole term.

Casual Classes are run in 45 minute sessions and you can drop in at any time! (Pre-booking is still required)
  • Do you offer private lessons or small group lessons? +

Yes we do :-) Private lessons are offered on a 1-Off (casual) basis or as a block of 4 or 8 lessons. When booking a block of lessons, all lessons are paid upfront and booked into a regular day/time, either weekly or fortnightly depending on your needs. Check the Price List page for your preferred studio – go to Studio Locator to select your studio, then select Price List.
  • Do I need to book in advance? +

Yes you do! Our class sizes are small to make sure everyone gets plenty of 1 on 1 attention, so it’s important that you book early to ensure a place in your preferred class.
  • How do I book and pay for a class/es? +

Online – just click on the Book Online Now button under the timetables on your studio page. You will need a *Visa or MasterCard to make payment (credit or debit cards).

Phone – give us a call and we can take care of everything over the phone. We take *Visa or MasterCard payments, or you can arrange to pay by Internet Transfer or break up your payments and use our Ezidebit system.

In-Studio – You can book in for a class by popping into your nearest studio during studio hours and make payment by Eftpos or *Credit Card. Sorry, we do not accept cash in the studios.

    * Merchant Fees – all credit card payments attract a small Merchant Fee (bank fee). If paying in-studio a 2% fee applies, or if using our online system a 1-Off online fee of $2 + 2.2% of the transaction value.
  • Is there any paperwork that I need to do? +

At your first visit to the studio please try to arrive about 15 minutes before your class so you have enough time to become familiar with the staff, the studio and take care of the required paperwork before the class starts.
  • Do you offer taster or try out classes? +

We sure do! Come along for a Pole Fundamentals class if you want to try our pole dancing classes, they are open to all levels and are completely beginner-friendly :)
