Do I need to be co-ordinated or have some previous dance experience?
Not at all. The majority of our students have no previous experience in dance or gymnastics and many are not particularly co-ordinated to start. That’s fine, our classes are suitable for all.
Do I need to be fit to participate in a Pole class?
Definitely not!. Most of our students are not fit when they first start, but we work on this slowly and you’ll be feeling the benefits in no time.
What are the benefits of Pole Dancing?
Pol-arise Dance Fitness classes offers a complete workout, for the body and mind. Our classes involve work both on and around the pole and engages muscles in the back, shoulders, arms and abdominals - you'll discover muscles you never even knew you had or haven’t seen in a while! The benefits are improved muscle strength and a toned body . A session will give you a great cardiovascular workout which burns calories and helps maintain a healthy heart. Your self confidence will soar as you experience a sense of accomplishment and express yourself in your own unique way through pole dance.
What ages are the ladies who attend your classes?
Our students range in age from 16 to 60 plus, the average age groups being young 20’s to late 40’s, but with many ladies in their 50’s and beyond.
Are they all young, skinny and gorgeous?
The short answer to this is NO! Most of our students are normal everyday women and girls like you and from all walks of life - mothers, wives, business women and uni students. Even our Instructors came from the same place as you. We are not ex-showgirls or strippers, we’re just normal women like you with husbands, kids and jobs.
I’m a bit shy about coming to class alone. What do you suggest?
Don’t be shy. Loads of girls come on their own and you’re bound to make some fantastic new friends in class – and I promise you we don’t bite.
Will I feel self-conscious or embarassed when attending classes?
When you first park the car and make your way to the door for your first class, you’re bound to feel a little self-conscious, but remember so are all the other girls in the class. As mentioned above – loads of girls come on their own, we’re all normal people looking for a few laughs and a way of keeping in shape. You’re not alone.
What should I wear to a Pole Dance class?
We’re very casual at Pol-arise, so you don’t need to run out and buy anything new or special for your classes. Just grab an old pair of shorts out of the cupboard and t-shirt or singlet top and that’s it. Shorts will need to be above knee and t-shirts not too baggy please. Bare fee are fine and high heels are optional. During the cooler months, wear a tracksuit or something over the top which you can leave on till we get warmed up.
Is there anything else I need to bring?
We recommend bringing a bottle of water and hand towel to class, but that’s it. Anything else you may need will be provided.
How do I book into a class?
You can book in over the phone, by email or at the studio. We require payment at the time of booking or within 48 hours of doing so.
What is Pre-Paid?
We offer a discount when you pay your fees in full within 48 hours of booking. Pre-Pay and Save $10 off your course.
What payment methods do you offer?
We accept Visa and Mastercard (over the phone or at the studio), Internet Deposits, Cash or Eftpos (at the studio), Ezypay or you can use Paypal through our website. Paypal if fast, free and totally secure and you can use your credit card or bank account. A 2% Merchant Fee applies to all Credit Card and Paypal payments.
What is Ezypay?
Want to break up your payments rather than paying the whole amount when booking. We ask for a $50 deposit when booking and the balance is deducted from your bank account or credit card every 4 weeks for the duration of the course/s. Some additional fees apply – please enquire for more details. |
