About Pole Dance Fitness Classes
Pole dancing is a great alternative for women of ALL ages, sizes and fitness levels, and is now recognised as one of the best exercise activities to give your body a full workout. Pole Dance improves fitness levels, core strength and muscle tone by combining the fun of dance, and the skills of gymnastics and acrobatics into one sport... that’s the NEW world of Pole Dance! What to Wear to a Pole Class Clothing - You want to be comfortable and able to move freely, so comfy dance/fitness type shorts which are above the knee are most suitable. This is so you can get skin grip on the pole. A singlet or crop top (whatever your comfortable with) - but please avoid strapless tops and clothing with zippers! Shoes - The vast majority of students (and Instructors) go bare foot in class and you are welcome to bring high heels or jazz shoes if you wish. Jewellery - No rings, bracelets or watches in class. This is for your safety as well as preservation of the dance poles. Necklaces and earrings are fine. Moisturisers - Please do not use moisturisers/body lotions on your hands, arms and legs on the day of your class. You won't get any grip on the pole and it makes them slippery for other students. Do you need to bring anything else? Most of our studios are equipped with filtered water machines, but we recommend you bring a water bottle with you and hand towel. WE'RE GONNA MAKE YOU SWEAT!
Pole Fitness Classes
These specialised workout classes are run over an 8 week term (unless otherwise advertised). So if you're ready to really ramp up your fitness, these classes are perfect.
POL-R-TEASE - A 45 minute strength and conditioning class using both the pole for resistance training as well as circuit training and floor work.
POLE ELEMENTS - This 45 minute class focuses on the 4 elements of pole dance - tricks, transitions, combinations and dance movement. You'll be working together to create your own choreographed routines.
STRETCH N' FLEX- Want to improve your level of flexibility but don't have a lot of time to spare? This 45 minute express class is the answer.
Our Signature Pole Classes
Our signature range of instructional pole classes are 60 minutes in duration and run over an 8 week term (unless otherwise advertised). Classes marked with a Star on our timetables are guaranteed 1 person per pole and can only be taken as a full 8 week term. Classes without a Star can be taken as either a full 8 week term OR as Casual classes. POLE ESSENTIALS (Beginners) - for the raw beginner. In this course we will cover 30+ essential moves and spins, correct pole technique,learn a routine, climbing - and at the end of this first 8 weeks, you'll be upside down!
GET VERTICAL (Intermediate 1) - Once you've completed the Essentials we’ll move on to some more challenging moves, continue to build your core strength, work on another routine and perfect the moves already learnt.
POLE EVOLUTION (Intermediate 2) - Now that you've completed Intermediate 1, you can start moving into our Advanced courses. We'll continue to challenge your mind and body and teach you heaps of fantastic new tricks.
