INTERNATIONAL POLE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Hong Kong - 14 March 2012

News Flash!

Congratulations to our very own CHRIS MEASDAY (from Pol-arise Adelaide) who last night was crowned ULTIMATE MEN'S POLE CHAMPION at the International Pole Championships held in Hong Kong. His nickname around Pol-arise is "Mr Mensday"  - and 14th March 2012 was indeed Mr Mensday's Day!

As a former gymnast, Chris discovered pole dancing as a way to get back in shape after he broke his back in 5 places when a gymnastics competition went horribly worng. Once recovered, he discovered pole dancing and quickly developed a passion for the sport as it allowed him to rebuild his strength without any heavy landings and, utilise his well honed gymnastic and acrobatic skills.

In 2006, Chris moved to Shanghai  with his then dance partner and mentor, and together they founded "PoleInk", the only male/female pole show in China.

Once back in Australia, Chris started teaching and performing pole and has been a regular competitor since 2009 when he competed in the inaugural Australian Pole Dance Championships. In 2010 Chris joined the Pol-arise team and has been key in developing the Pole Matrix brand (the first ever men's specific pole fitness program). 2010 was a big year for Chris as he placed 2nd in the Asia Pacific Pole Dance Championships and later that year took out the Men's Pole Fit Champion title at the International Pole Championships in Tokyo.

In 2011Chris continued to play a high profile role in the world of pole dance - first as part of the Pure Pole Element troupe on Australia's Got Talent, as well as being a judge at the in augural Australian Capital Pole Championships and Miss Pole Dance NZ Competition. To finish off the year he opened the Pol-arise Adelaide studio in Holden Hill.
